Establish a Scholarship
Give back to your community by establishing a scholarship
Is there a program, major or demographic you’re passionate about supporting? You can provide the funds and the guidelines and we’ll handle the rest. We’ll put out the call for students who match your criteria, organize the applications and choose the prospective students based on the parameters you provide.
Creating a scholarship provides critical tuition assistance for promising students with financial need interested in college or trade school. These scholarships make higher education a reality for students, helping to eliminate or reduce student loan debt.
There are two ways to create a scholarship for students:
In each of the cases below, donors will receive scholar profiles when the scholarships are awarded and have a chance to meet their scholars at the Local Change Foundation’s annual scholarship awards reception.

Ways to create a scholarship
Create an endowed scholarship
Endowed scholarships provide critical tuition support for students in perpetuity. With an established gift of $25,000 or more, scholarships are given from earnings in accordance with the Local Change Foundation Endowment Fund spending guidelines (currently set at 4%). Scholarships will be supported by the earnings of the fund while the principal remains untouched.
Create a named scholarship
For a gift of $10,000 or more, a named scholarship provides immediate tuition support that lasts for five years. The name associated with the scholarship will remain with the fund until such time as the fund is depleted.
Empowering us to give back to Colorado Students
"Establishing a scholarship in your name during your lifetime empowers the Local Change Foundation to give back to Colorado students. Investing in both traditional and non-traditional higher education is a powerful way to help others stay engaged in our community. Together, we can support our future community leaders as they fearlessly pursue their dreams."
- Ian Bennett, The Bennett Family Trade School Scholarship.
